Use of our Services
- All information on the BoardAssist website is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws throughout the world. BoardAssist grants our website visitors a limited, non-transferable revocable license to use our site solely for your own personal non-commercial purposes.
- We ask that users do not share any password provided to you by BoardAssist with any other party or contact any of the boards you learn about through BoardAssist without our prior written consent, even if a candidate has a pre-existing tie to a particular board.
- We further ask that you respect our work product and intellectual property by not sharing any information you learn about through our site with anyone else – this includes, but is not limited to, information that any particular nonprofit board is looking to expand their team at any particular time.
- As a nonprofit, BoardAssist does not have the resources to “vet” any particular board opportunity for our candidates. By moving forward with BoardAssist, you acknowledge that you will conduct your own independent research with respect to any particular board opportunity and will not rely on any statements made by BoardAssist regarding the appropriateness of that board for you.
- All BoardAssist clients complete a questionnaire providing us with information on their organization and board responsibilities. We recommend that our candidates independently verify this information with the nonprofits as they proceed through the board matching process. Occasionally, the information we have received from the nonprofits proves to be inaccurate (typically because the information has changed and we were not brought up to date).
- From time to time we will ask our nonprofit clients to share information about your term of service, board leadership positions and charitable contribution (give/get). If BoardAssist ultimately places you on any board, we may refer to your good work.

The right to access – You have the right to request BoardAssist provide copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that BoardAssist correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request BoardAssist complete the information you believe is incomplete.
The right to erasure – You have the right to request that BoardAssist erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that BoardAssist restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to BoardAssist’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
The right to data portability – You have the right to request that BoardAssist transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
