BoardAssist Executive Director sits down with Bloomberg Radio’s Kevin Price

BoardAssist Executive Director Cynthia Remec sits down with Bloomberg Radio’s Kevin Price to discuss the state of the nonprofit community and how serving on a nonprofit board is a terrific way to support this community.   To hear the full interview, click  here

“People would be more excited about board service,” Ms. Remec suggested “if they knew they could do a lot more on a board than just function as an ATM machine, or just write checks.”  BoardAssist’s goal is to get that message out there.

“93% of the people we placed on boards were serving as leaders within 12 months of being placed,” according to Ms. Remec and BoardAssist’ summer 2013 survey.  Ms. Remec wants people interested in board service to understand there is a way to really engage beyond just fundraising if they pick the right board.

BoardAssist offers their services on a no fee basis to candidates interested in board service.  Ms. Remec reminded Mr. Price that his listeners could also download Giving Back, BoardAssist’s guide to picking the right nonprofit board, for free from any page of the BoardAssist website.

Ms. Remec discussed some current BoardAssist searches ranging from helping local charter schools and homeless shelters to nonprofits in Cambodia, Mali, Afghanistan and Haiti.

“We look for people who can be high impact agents of change on the boards they join,” according to Ms. Remec.  Interested parties should look no further than BoardAssist if that’s their goal as well.
