BoardAssist announces the grant of two new governance awards
BoardAssist is pleased to announce the grant of two governance awards in honor of two BoardAssist board members who are retiring this year. Ellen P. Simon and Hugh R. Frater have each provided exemplary service for many years to BoardAssist and to the principles of good governance within the New York nonprofit community. To honor that service, BoardAssist would like to offer a gift of $1000 in each of their names to a nonprofit whose board has performed in a way consistent with the high standards Dr. Simon and Mr. Frater have set for nonprofit boards.
The Ellen P. Simon Award will be awarded to a New York City based nonprofit that shares an example of how their board has been particularly effective in the area of programming development. The Hugh R. Frater award will be awarded to a New York City nonprofit that shares an example of excellence in fiscal practices.
Applications are due by December 1. Winners will be announced by January 19. Please send your stories of governance excellence to firstname.lastname@example.org and limit your entry to 250 words. Nonprofits that are affiliated with any BoardAssist board members, or with a close family member of a BoardAssist board member, are not eligible for these awards.
